Founding 1985
Mission Acquire, preserve, file and make accessible to the public, the genealogical archives and resources relating to the heritage of Prince Edward Island Acadians from 1720 to the present.
Administration A Director who reports to the Executive Director of the Prince Edward Island Museum & Heritage Foundation and who is assisted by members of the Board of Directors, elected during the annual meetings of the Association du Musée acadien incorporée, a non-profit organization whose role is to advise the Director.
Construction of the new building 1990-1991
Rooms A study room for researchers, an administration office, and a storage area for archive preservation.
Security Fire and burglary alarm systems.
Environment Monitoring system to keep the relative humidity at 40% and the temperature at 20-21º.
Air conditioning during the summer months.
